Two people have been injured in a two-car crash in Stevenage this afternoon.

Police and firefighters rushed to the junction of Vardon Road and Wisden Road in the Pin Green area of town after the crash at about 4.15pm.

The cars involved were a black Mercedes Kompressor and a black Volkswagen Golf.

Police briefly closed the road to control traffic as recovery was arranged following the crash.

An ambulance spokeswoman told the Comet at 5pm that they had yet to arrive on the scene, but that it did not appear that there were major injuries.
