Party Policies: North Herts District Council Elections 2008
The Conservative Party
North Hertfordshire Conservatives will support residents by continuing to give value for money to council tax payers - high quality service at a fair cost, including reducing costs of the council particularly in relation to office accommodation and overheads.
We will seek, with the help of residents, to introduce further recycling initiatives to reduce waste going to landfill. The need to protect our environment is a high priority.
We will ensure that any town centre developments are appropriate and compatible with the needs of traders and the community. Street furniture needs to be suitable and clean litter-free streets are required.
We will ensure all development is sustainable. There is a need for affordable housing for local people but we will fight against over development and for the need for infrastructure. The need to protect our Green Belt is ever more important.
We will continue to make this district a viable, pleasant and attractive place in which to live and work.
North Hertfordshire Conservatives know that quality of service and quality of life are important. They have a huge depth of experience to deliver on both these points.
