Liam, great work in transforming cancer from an awful curse to a triumphant . Just wanted you to know that the third time round may be better. Synovial sarcoma is aggressive (hard to beat at round one). Yours on you leg, Stefan's in his foot. At round 2 it tends to go to lungs as you and my 30 year old son Stefan Cleveland have each learned. Stefan's had metastasized to his lung at his first 90 day checkup. So we were distraught and afraid too. He had lung wedge resection (out of hospital in 2 days) and his next scan was clear - so the third time can be the charm! We are waiting to see about the next scan for the end of March.
There's great new lung surgery technology that means they can go in under arm or from back with a scope and avoid the chest cracking open major surgery invasion - Dr. of University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance is the lung surgeon specialist on wedge and partial resection lung surgery. Another friend in Minnesota, from regular lung cancer, just had one lung removed by surgery through the back and is up and about within 2 weeks and now off oxygen altogether. Finally, a third friend had one lung removed, given less than 6 months to live -- that was 20 years ago and he is going strong.
I think it is hard to kill all of the sarcoma at once. Also, a diet high in fruits & vegetables and low in sugars and using lots of tumeric spice (it helps prevent cancer regrowth)
