iam trying to find any relatives or information of the moore family ,from safren welden, my grandfarther george moore ,was born in safren welden in 1888.and moved up to yorkshire via hull before the great war, his job before the war was farming,and after the war he continued in the farming way of life . he died in 1975,when i was eleven. I know nothing about his side of my famliy.only when he moved from safren welden he married my gran who was from hull. it would be nice if anybody from the village he was born could let me know if they know any information about him or his famliy or if there is any moore,s still in safren welden,my mother said he lived near a road duck road?if anybody as any information please feel free to contact me.

I do not know if this is of help. Not far from Saffron Walden there is an area called "Duck End". If I recall (have not visited the area for 15 years) it is little more than a hamlet. There was even a "Duck End Farm" in the area. Sorry I cannot help more. If you have details of your grandfather's parents it may be worth researching local churchyards.

ive found out some extra famly names.william moore ,sarah/children william lizzie and george my grandfarther.and a name place snow hill.and great easton on a census there,s also a mention of the old work house and there occupation as farm workers.also names john cox caroline and there son as walter ellen and fredrick deborah. all on the census page 77 1888 .thanks for your reply to my last message, still trying to find out more of were they lived. and the nearest church to were snow hill is at.
